Meet Jackie Johnson - Children's Anxiety Specialist

I have worked with children, adults and families for over 20 years in differing capacities.

As a children's change worker I have helped children overcome fears and stresses, manage their disruptive and unhappy behaviour, stay in school and achieve beyond expectations.

Where I can, I work with the school and family too, to support the necessary changes.

I have also been commissioned in schools to work individually and in 'psycho-education groups. This group of 6 sessions demonstrated a 75% reduction in recorded behavioural issues within the school.

I work with children in their map of the world, and we have fun which helps change happen easily.

I can work with adults, too- especially young adults up to the age of 30

With years of experience and specialized training in effective approaches for working with people, I am dedicated to helping children, teens, and young adults overcome anxiety, fear, phobias, anger, and other emotional challenges.

I create a safe and supportive environment for all clients, using empowering techniques to help them develop coping skills, build resilience, and improve their emotional well-being.

By working with me, young individuals can take back control of their lives, feel happier and safer, and gain the confidence to be their authentic self

How Does It Work?

I get to know each child in their own words, and quickly understand what makes them 'tick'. From this, I work on what the young person perceives as the current situation and help them to decide what they would like as their preferred situation.

I use cutting-edge change work therapeutic techniques that have the client at the centre - very effective tools that work to empower the young person to have the resources they need.

I will see the child at your home or at school or another place where they feel safe and comfortable.

Please discuss the referral with me in the first instance, and it is best if the young person is willing to attend, fully participate and understands what may happen in a session.

If they need a little encouragement, I can speak with them directly.

I charge £125 per session, and find 2-5 sessions is often enough for the person to have got enough to move towards the changes they want to make.

Daily discounted rates can be arranged for schools (link)

I also charge 45p per mile travel expenses over 10 miles from Northallerton, North Yorkshire

Hi Jackie. I'm not sure if you'll remember me, but my name is J and I had some sessions with you earlier in the year at college. I'd just like to say a massive thank you, because without your help in those sessions, I wouldn't be who I am now. I now have little to no issues with my anger, I am the happiest and most confident that I've ever been and I am now also 100% open about my sexuality. So much so, that I am now helping some other people who are struggling with their sexuality or other problems, by being there for them and talking to them without any judgement. Honestly, I can't say thank you enough and I'll never forget how much you've done for me. I wish you all the best. -J

Our 15-year-old daughter has been seeing Jackie for a few weeks and she is brilliant. We have seen a massive difference in our daughter. Our daughter was struggling with the pressures of school and a few problems with friends. Jackie has helped our daughter deal with these issues in a positive way. We notice a huge difference in our daughter after seeing Jackie and we see our daughter using the strategies that Jackie has given her when things are difficult. We have noticed that our daughter has a different outlook on life and is so much happier in herself.

After my sessions with Jackie, I have been able to manage my emotions a lot better and deal with situations that I had before found difficult, as well as this she has given me a more positive outlook on life and helped me find my motivation to succeed in the career that I want. I am so grateful for the help she has given me and would recommend anyone who is struggling with anything in their life to go and see her.
